Dear Friends and Family,
We thank God for your willingness to pray for Wyatt. He is doing so well in our family. We took him to CHOP on Wednesday to be evaluated by the Spina Bifida team and to see the head of Neurosurgery. It was a very long day seeing 4 medical professionals and get a set of x-rays. It was a confusing day too. We went from hearing he has Spina Bifida to he doesn't have Spina Bifida to he is on the Spina Bifida spectrum. We went from hearing he may be a candidate for hip surgery to not being a candidate. As one of the doctors remarked..."This is why we call it medical "practice".....we don't always know everything. Well when all was said and done we left CHOP with the following information. He does have Spina Bifida (at least he is on the Spina Bifida spectrum) so he will be followed by the Spina Bifida team. They also said over and over just how "lucky" we say blessed he is to be bladder and bowel trained. They seemed surprised by his ability to climb, run, jump, stand on tiptoes...etc. They explained that he looks way better in person than he looks on his MRI. They sent us home saying that we should just enjoy him and bask in the fact that he is doing so well. So we are going to do just that. We are going to continue to thank God for how well he is doing and pray that his spinal cord does not tether (that would require surgery and in the process affect his bowel and bladder). So that is our prayer request.. praying that his cord does not tether and that he remains so healthy. As Jared said "Well the only thing wrong with him is his limp and that is his 'signature trademark'" He may always limp but we rejoice in just how well he is doing. Please continue to pray for our family as we prayerfully embark on adopting another child from the same hospital that Wyatt is from. We have a passion to rescue these precious little ones. We pray that you may also desire to welcome one of these precious children into your family. Please check out this Bethany Website to show you how you can advocate for the 400 waiting children that Bethany is advocating for. If you are interested in more information please email or call us we would love to share with you. https://www.facebook.com/groups/waitingchildadvocate/ In the grip of His grace, Dawn

Once I went kiteboarding for the first time, I couldn't wait to go again. Similarly, once you adopt, you have the passion to adopt again.
