Hi Everyone,

Wow! We met Jianlai (Wyatt) today. We got up early to meet our guide and get some documents copied at the hotel and then went for a short ride to the Civil Affairs office. We met up with our new friends and then the children met their families for the first time. Several families met their new children before us...several were crying (which is a good thing since that usually means there was some previous attachment with a caregiver). We waited for about a half hour and then they brought him in...wow, wow, wow! He was so bundled up. He cried when he was first held by Dawn and then off and on while we finished up our paperwork. He smiled a few times and is really starting to feel comfortable with Dawn, who is just wonderful with him. He ate a full little container of Teddy Grahams...which really seems to comfort him. Once we got back to the hotel we played with him with his toys.   He really likes to hold on to all his things...it really comforts him. He did not want any of his coats or shoes taken off. We sang to him and he he was so tired and fought going to sleep...he finally started to just sob, a very sad sob, which caused the two of us to sob. He finally feel fast asleep on Dawn's lap and we all took a nice nap. He woke up nicely and played for a while and cried again for a short time...he seems to be grieving the lose of what he knew. He is very interactive and seems very smart. He has very good fine motor skills with his toys and feeding himself. We tried giving him a sippy cup and he pushed them away. We gave him a tea cup and he held it and drank from it like a pro. He also went potty on the potty...the traditional Chinese split pants really are kind of practical. Please pray that he continues to feel comfortable with us as he has so far. We praise Him for all He has done and the blessing of this little boy.

In the grip of His grace,

Tim and Dawn
