We continue to rejoice in God’s perfect timing! He alone deserves all of our praise. Now that we have official approval from the Chinese government to adopt our little boy we can share some of his referral information with all of you.
His name is Jianlai. His name will be Jianlai Wyatt. We are not sure if we will call him J.W., Jianlai, Wyatt etc. We will wait to see how he does with the transition. He was found when he was about 6 months of age and they have assigned him January 24 as his birthday. He will now share his birthday with Christian. Our international boys will turn 3 and 7 on January 24th. Christians only concern with sharing his birthday was that he would have to share his presents! When we assured him that he would not have to do this he was sooooo relieved. Wyatt currently lives in a hospital for children with CP. They will be moving him to an orphanage in the next few weeks or months. Once he is getting used to the orphanage we will go to bring him home. We look different, talk different, smell different, eat different food. Everything will be so different for this precious orphan. It is our prayer that he will have a sense of who we are the minute he is placed in our arms. Please join us in praying that he will come home quickly. In these photos he is crying and his head is shaved. He is the picture of a little boy needing a Mommy and Daddy. He reminds me of us before we are saved, lost, lonely, without any hope. Then the God of the universe sent his only son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins, and rise again bringing us the assurance of salvation if we confess our sin, and believe in our hearts that Jesus died for us. Jesus gives us a new life in him, just as we pray we will be able to give Wyatt a new life with us. It is our prayer that all of you have this eternal hope! Pray that this transition goes smoothly for us and for him. Even though we know he needs a Mommy and Daddy, a family, a home, and lots and lots of love, he has no idea he needs all this. We will initially be just one more transition and difficulty in his life. Pray that God would speak to his little heart and bring him comfort during this time. We treasure your prayers for our new sweet son and family. We are waiting to see what God will do. May He alone be glorified.

Dearest Friends and Family,
I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, Sovereign Lord; I will proclaim your righteous deeds, yours alone. Psalm 71:16 We stand in awe of a Mighty God, an Awesome Savior and the Great I Am. We are rejoicing in giving God the glory for his wonderful deeds! All of our paperwork arrived in China on August 26th. Yippie!! We were then just in a holding pattern waiting for the Chinese Government to give us official approval to adopt our son. We were told that the range of time that it typically takes is 2 to 4 months and that because of some changes in the system it had been taking 4 months. So we began praying and asking God to intercede to mover the paperwork faster so that we could bring home our little boy. God quite literally parted the Red Sea and moved our paperwork through in 3 weeks! We stand in awe of his perfect timing and beautiful answer to prayer. We are now waiting for final immigration approval and then we will wait for our visas and then we will get a travel invitation to travel to China to pick him up. Please pray for Wyatt to have a sense of who we are even before we get there to get him. Pray that he attaches to us and does not suffer from the inability to attach. Please pray for God’s perfect timing for bringing him home. The name Wyatt means brave and strong. We know that to have survived his circumstances of living in a hospital with 200 children in less then ideal circumstances have indeed made him strong. It is my prayer that our journey of faith will inspire you to adopt one of the millions of orphans needing a family, or will encourage you pray regularly for the orphans around the world or to help someone financially who is adopting. God’s word is clear in James 1:27 “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father is this to visit orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained from the world. “ Pray and ask God today how you will respond to his voice. Thank you once again for your faithful prayers...please keep them coming. May God alone be glorified. In the grip of His grace, Dawn |
